AUCTION

GLINTED FIELD
23"x16"x1-1/2"
wax, plaster, and pigment on primed wood blocks
2008

It can be yours at the Lawrence Arts Center Auction.

The point of departure for this piece was an exploration of a theory about an irregular cantilever construction that I read a few months ago. The irregular middle area is the construction of the cantilever. The cantilever form was not enough. It was a static form of unreal balance and mass. The spaces around the small blocks were filled in with long blocks to create the overall rectangle. This assembly became an interrupted field; the plaster and wax highlight the irregularities of the overall monochrome assembly.

I love it. If it's still around, I will stop by and check it out. Hope you're well.
