I visited Council Grove in March. Several tree stumps/trunks are marked throughout the community with historic markers. There are a few along the main road with Council Grove Rotary Club plaques declaring the significance of the grove of trees that made Council Grove a stop along the Santa Fe trail.The Tinman (with ax) at Baker's Market seems an odd character near these stumps.
